Working for yourself, beats the other options

But it's not that easy. Sure, anyone can register
a company at the Companies House and open a business bank account. Getting customers is a whole other story. And without customers, you don't have a business.

MyFirstCompany helps emerging entrepreneurs
to grow global businesses. We're not experts ourselves, but we find that works in our favour -
we are working as hard as you are to connect the dots, meet those who are more experienced than us, and connecting NZ's high-profile entrepreneurs with those who are just starting out.

    About us

We're a one-stop shop for Kiwi graduates who want to start their own company. There's a lot of resources out there, but we pull them all together for you, making it simple and easy to take your idea from concept to reality.

This site is currently just an online holding spot, until we launch the proper site in early 2011.

When that 'real' site launches, you'll be able to choose what stage you're at:

    • "Tell me how": gives you a thorough, high-quality checklist of the necessary requirements before you launch a business - i.e. legal, banking, and other administrative requirements, as well as links to local law and accounting firms in your area specialising in small businesses.
    • "Show me how": gives you the above, as well as access to discounted events and workshops around investment readiness and prototyping.
    • "Involve me": an selective premium membership program for emerging entrepreneurs, that provides personal introductions to mentors, funders and advisors, and invitations to intimate events where your questions can be answered face-to-face.

We'd love to keep in touch. So check out our first videos, tell us what you want to see by emailing josh@myfirstcompany.co.nz, and subscribe to our mailing list.
